Week 12 Voice Thread

A voice thread is a conversation over some type of media. It can be about anything you can think of. It allows students to comment so I think it could be beneficial in my classroom. I would use voice thread if I thought it would help my students. I could put a video on voice thread and then let my students partner up and discuss what they learned. We could each send feedback.

Week 10

I liked the activities fine. It was fairly easy I already had a resume created from another class so I just used it. The teacher brochure was new to me but I was able to do it. I enjoyed making it I am excited about having my first class to teach so I can do all the fun stuff we have been doing. I do not think there are any muddy point we need to cover but I am always open to learn something new. I like desktop publishing I am sure I will use it in the future. I think anything can be done on publisher they give a list of different layouts to choose from. The one thing I would create by using desktop would have to be newsletters to send home each month to keep parents informed on upcoming events.

Week 7

I think educators should stay up to date with their students. Whatever technology they use the teacher should be able to use. I think online chat is good when students are working in groups. It allows them to exchange ideas with out having to meet in person. There are benefits to both text-based communication over synchronous and face-to-face communication. It depends on what you are send when using podcasts. It's good for informative stuff and for teachers to get something to their students. Video games could help they would have to be educational video games. The more a student play a video game the better they remember it. I somewhat agree with the article. If i had children I would not let them play video games every day. There are more important thing we could do as a family.

Week 6

The Delicious website would be helpful when doing a research paper or something. Instead of trying to save everything you found to your computer you could just bookmark it. I will probably use this in the future. I think it will make things a little easier.

Week 4

I enjoyed using excel for a grade book and worksheet I found that it can be very useful. I would use it in my classroom, I think students would enjoy learning using excel. Using a spreadsheet over a calculator is better because you can save all the grades without having to redo them. It is a lot easier to show a student their grade and how you came up with their final grade.

Week 3

I found inspiration can be useful for some teachers. However, I am going to be an Ag teacher and it's more hands on. I think inspiration could be used for teaching the lesson about what the students are going to be doing. I believe it would help students understand what is being done. If I were doing a lesson on cows digestive system I could use inspiration to break down each part for the students.

I think writing about what you have already learned in class as well as doing a report on what interest the student. Students can help each other by sharing ideas on what they like. I also think having groups of students do a presentation on something or their choosing. Using technology for feed back, I would give constructive criticism and make sure everyone is on the right track.

My Opinion

I am not familiar with blogging I have only had to do it once for another class. As for education I believe blogging is useful if it helps students learn better. Also if it makes learning more fun. I don't think blogging is a waste of time, as long as people do not abuse its purpose. Sabrina
